Financial Planning for Military Leaders (FPML)
This presentation stresses the importance of personal financial management by explaining the impact of debt and the benefits of financial goal-setting, planning, savings, insurance and investments. It includes an explanation of Thrift Savings Plan, Individual Retirement Accounts and military retirement plans.
Financial Planning for Military Leaders for ROTC (ROTC)
This presentation is geared to the ROTC audience as future military leaders. It exposes the ROTC cadets to financial issues for which their troops may need guidance. This class covers the same information as the FPML presentation, with the exception of military retirement plans.
Financial Planning for Military Personnel (FPMP)
This presentation is designed for junior enlisted personnel. It focuses on the service member’s personal responsibility for financial well-being and covers the same management topics as FPML, with the exception of military retirement plans.
Military Death Benefits
This presentation delivers information on benefits offered to survivors, such as death gratuity, DIC, death pension, education assistance, SBP, home loan guarantees, and burial benefits. A more detailed presentation on SBP is also available through the Educational Foundation.

This presentation discusses Final Pay, High-3, REDUX, and comparisons among them.
Survival Benefit Plan
This presentation provides information on the Survival Benefit Plan, including the history of SBP, beneficiary options, enrollment, premiums, additional features and the pros and cons of SBP.
Transition
This presentation is designed to prepare service members for the change from military to civilian life. It looks at potential expenses involved with relocation and career development, as well as the value of debt elimination and ongoing financial planning using savings, insurance, and investments.

In doing so, we have pledged to abide by the directives and policies established by the Department of Defense, the individual military services, and the local installation commanders. In recognition of our commitment and our continual adherence to established guidance, First Command Educational Foundation has been granted official approval to conduct educational programs for four of the five military services.
