Giving Opportunities

First Command Educational Foundation (FCEF) has been in operation since 1983 with an original mission to provide scholarships for military personnel and their families as a 501(c)(3) private foundation.

As FCEF matured, it has also grown by broadening its mission and outreach. On January 1, 2006, FCEF officially received certification as a public charity. FCEF has facilitated the distribution of more than $3.5 million scholarships, and just as importantly, has made financial literacy presentations all over the world to more than 40,000 participants. FCEF has also taught seminars to facilitate the professional development of military financial counselors and is expanding that curriculum to provide training for counselors affiliated with nonprofit community organizations.

FCEF has recently been at the vanguard of providing financial literacy education for public schools and open enrollment charter schools across the state of Texas, and looks forward to expanding this program beyond Texas borders as other states mandate this vital discipline.

Your support for any or all of these elements of FCEF’s mission is critical to the well-being and expansion of our programs.  Whether its supporting an undergraduate or graduate student’s bid for higher education, or making sure high school students throughout the nation have the latest in money management and credit training, or simply helping the overall operation and administration of these efforts, your gift will leave a legacy of a stronger economy and a well-educated workforce.
